What does “GLP-1 friendly” mean?
There is no single regulatory nutrition standard for the phrase. In January 2026, the USDA told the Associated Press that it had approved some labels using the wording alongside protein and fiber statements, while confirming that the term itself has no regulatory standard. Approval of a particular label is not a personal nutrition recommendation. Read the AP reporting.
Start with the serving size
Check what the Nutrition Facts panel counts as one serving and how many servings the package contains. A bottle may be one serving; another package may contain more. FDA explains that serving sizes reflect amounts people typically consume, not a recommendation for how much to eat. See FDA’s label guide.
Compare the amount you expect to eat. If a package contains two servings and you eat the whole package, double its per-serving figures.
Look beyond the protein number
Compare protein, fiber, calories and sodium together. A high protein figure does not tell you the fiber or sodium content. Read ingredients and allergen information separately, and use the package in front of you when it differs from an older online listing.
Our six-bowl comparison puts selected Counter, Healthy Choice and Vital Pursuit meals side by side. It includes serving weights and manufacturer sources so you can see what each number refers to. It does not select an overall winner or rank every product from those brands.
What the calculations tell you
Protein per 100 calories answers one narrow question: how much protein accompanies the same number of calories?
For a hypothetical food with 20 g of protein and 250 calories per serving:
20 ÷ 250 × 100 = 8 g of protein per 100 calories.
That is a comparison aid, not a recommended portion or a score for the whole food. You still need the per-serving figures and the rest of the label.
The directory also calculates fiber per 100 calories and, when a sourced price is available, protein per dollar. The low-sodium frozen-meal list uses sodium per 100 g; its filters still show sodium limits per serving. These measures answer different questions. The methodology explains the calculations and missing-data rules.
Compare foods you would actually buy
Browse frozen meals, snacks or protein shakes, then add foods to the comparison tool. Check the serving size, source and date alongside the numbers. “Not provided” means the source did not supply that value; it does not mean zero.
